Robert’s career includes pivotal roles as Chairman of the Manchester Ship Canal Company and Deputy Chairman of Peel Holdings. His strategic vision has played a fundamental role in shaping the growth of Salford Quays, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, and the hugely successful 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, where he served as Chairman of the Organising Committee and Mayor of the Games Village. Robert’s tenure as board member and Chairman of the North West Regional Development Agency, followed by his successful leadership as Chair of the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership further underscores his commitment to regional development. He was awarded a CBE in the 2014 New Year’s Honours list for services to business in the North West.
